The combination of a British Standard BS8621 automatic deadbolt nightlatch with a SKG*** European Standard smart cylinder makes this a high-security lock.  When digitally activated, the external door knob mechanically engages with the lock case to open the door and mechancially deadbolts the door when it closes.

    To meet UK home insurance standards, wooden doors must have at least one lock that is British Standard BS3621 certified and key-operated from both sides. Finfort’s Smart Dual Door Lock Set combines:

    1. smart auto-deadbolt nightlatch (top) for keyless convenience and automatic locking
    2. manual BS3621-certified deadbolt (bottom) for insurance compliance

    This setup gives you the best of both worlds:

    ✅ Keyed security when needed — e.g. overnight or during longer absences

    The nightlatch features a 21mm mechanical deadbolt for robust physical security. Engaging the manual deadbolt — for example, during longer absences — secures the door at a second point, providing an even higher level of defence.

    The Bold Smart cylinder is SKG*** certified, indicating high resistance to burglary attempts.

    Additionally, it employs end-to-end encryption to protect against digital threats.

    If your phone battery is depleted, you can still unlock your Finfort Smart Auto-Deadbolt Nightlatch using the Bold Smart Lock's backup PIN feature. This allows you to access your home without relying on your smartphone.

    Setting Up the Backup PIN:

    1. Open the Bold app on your smartphone.
    2. Navigate to the settings for your Bold Smart Lock.
    3. Enable the backup PIN feature.
    4. Create a personal 5-digit PIN code.

    Using the Backkup PIN:

    • Turn the outside knob of the lock to wake it.
    • Enter your PIN by alternating turns to the left and right for each digit.
    • Upon correct entry, the lock will emit two short beeps, indicating it has been activated.

    The Bold Smart Lock is designed to be keyless. Access is managed through the app, fob, or PIN code. The PIN feature allows you to access your home without relying on your smartphone. Using the backup PIN is easy.
